The Family's tribute is very fitting for my Uncle Kenneth. He really was a true Gentleman in every way. I will also remember him for his smile and at times mischievous sense of humour , his patience, his immaculate dress sense and great interest in the world. I know he would unfailingly read the Daily Telegraph from cover to cover. But he was also a real romantic - watching repeats of films such as Notting Hill and Love Actually to name but two. My Mum , Dorothy, was always grateful for his devotion and love for her sister Joan, especially during her long illness. I was grateful for his frequent visits to Southport and time spent chatting to my late father and then assisting my mum after he passed away. He will be missed, I am sure, by all who know him. My thoughts are especially with Helen , Jeremy, Michael, Sarah and James at this sad time. May he rest in peace.

You will be greatly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know you. Thank you for being a lovely father and for introducing me to a lifetime love of gardening and walking.

My dear gentle, funny Grandpa. I already miss you so much, but feel so grateful for the time we had. When I think of you, I think of the rustle of newspapers and cups of tea together in the afternoons, usually sneaking a biscuit too, of your lovely aftershave and smartly ironed hankies, and of flowers in bloom in stately home gardens. How I wish I could give you one more cuddle but I know you’re resting now. I’ll carry you with me forever. Night night. ‘Love you darling’ xxx

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
